A lot of pros say that bank roll management is key to becoming a winning player. That is not something I have usually done that well in. However, with as much discipline as I can muster, here is my plan for bankroll management.
I simply do better at cash games then I do tournaments. Tourneys I tend to blow up. So while I will play some tournaments, my focus will be cash games.
In cash games, I will never put more than 2.5% of my bankroll on a table. I will multi-table a bit, so I will have more than 2.5% in play, but it will be spread over different tables.
For tournaments, the buy-ins will never be more than 1% of my current bankroll.
Hopefully with strict discipline I can avoid any fatalities due to variance. I will just have to worry about my own play.
